Jai Jawan, which is a known name in the hearts of Bandra people, was in our minds too. My mother's sister (Mosi) fondly told us about this place whenever the topic of Bandra came up. So when we were near Bandra, we decided not to miss this iconic place.

we got to know that there are two outlets, one is the older one which serves take out and another is a dinning place. we decided to go to the later one

Ambience and Service

Despite the construction outside, the Jai Jawan board stood proudly, welcoming us. We chose to embrace the chilly weather by dining al fresco. The attentive staff promptly handed us menus, but I prefer asking for recommendations, so I inquired about the most popular dishes. They enthusiastically suggested the Punjabi Prawns Fry and Punjabi Fish Fry, which I eagerly ordered, while Raksha opted for chicken tikka, her preferred choice. To our delight, the wait was brief, and soon we were savoring our delicious meal amidst the crisp air.

Culinary Highlights

I ordered Punjabi prawns fry and Punjabi basa ( boneless fish) fry along with pav. Both the seafood were soft and tender and had a delicate coating over them, not too thick to take down the flavor of fish and nor too thin to make it less crispy. The best and underdog of the items were the green chutney, which was served along with the dishes. It was tangy, a little spicy, and fresh. It was a chutney that you can use as a stand-alone. The amalgamation of fish and chutney was heavenly. The chicken tikka was also very nice, soft, tender, and spicy. Although I am a seafood fan, so my focus was on basa and prawns, Raksha liked the chicken tikka a lot.

Conclusion

A must-try daily gem in Bandra that I finally understand why my mosi insisted on!
